Jenson's Big Night Leads Royals to Big Win Over Macalester, 83-55
The Bethel University men's basketball team rounded off their fifth straight victory Friday evening against Macalester College. The Royals [6-1, 4-0 MIAC] easily handled the Scots [4-5, 0-4 MIAC] with a 28 point difference, 83-55. The Royals vaulted into a lead early on, scoring 10 points and holding the Scots to zero in the first five minutes. They headed into halftime comfortably,15 points ahead of Macalester's 21. The second half echoed the first half. The Royals dictated the game with their defense by scoring 27 points off turnovers as opposed to the Scots' five points. Bethel's bench also played a large role, scoring 36 points, including 21 from freshman Jack Jenson. The Southwest Christian product set a career high in points on 8-15 shooting from the field, including 2-5 from the three point line. Trevor Hall turned in his usual all around game with 15 points, eight rebounds, six assists, four steals and two blocked shots. Brycen Wojta sank three shots from downtown on top of his three free throws to tally 12 points. Derek Magnuson was the other Royal scorer in double figures with 10 points.
