Robertson Renovation

ARDEN HILLS, Minn.—Bethel University's home for all volleyball, men's basketball, and women's basketball games has received a facelift over the past two weeks. Included in the makeover, are newly painted East and North walls, a nine-foot tall 3D BU logo on the north wall, and a branded fabrication that spells out Bethel Royals on the East Wall. "As we continue to strive for competitive excellence within each of our athletic programs, we believe this project will excite our current students, alumni, parents, and prospective athletes," said Bethel's Athletic Director Bob Bjorklund. "The Robertson Gym has a history of passionate fans and high-level energy, and we believe this will further enhance the venue."

The Robertson Center Gym has been the home to Bethel basketball and volleyball since 1972. Numerous playoff games and halftime entertainment have been held on the hardwood over the last 40-plus years. "We are pleased with the first phase of renovations on the Robertson Gym," added head men's basketball coach Doug Novak. "This will only add to the incredible atmosphere here at Bethel." The first contest in the new-look gymnasium will be the Royals home volleyball invitational on Friday, September 5. Bethel takes on Buena Vista University in the Robertson Center at 6 p.m. that evening. "We are very excited to play 10 matches in the newly renovated Robertson Center Gym," said head volleyball coach Gretchen Hunt. "We feel very privileged that the volleyball team gets to introduce the new RC to the Bethel Royals fan base."
